There are lots of good rivers and lakes to go fishing around Saskatoon. Of course, there is very good fishing in the Canadian Shield in the northern part of the province.

Hiking takes you into the world of nature. This city offers near-nature jaunts along the river, and up in Silversprings Park. There are a number of natural areas close-by as well.

Horseback Riding
Saskatchewan is horse country. you can rent a horse or learn to ride at several ranches and stables around Saskatoon . There are even some dude ranches for a total ranching experience. Ice skating

Martial Arts
Learn to defend yourself at one of many studios, where they train in both the mental and physical skills in the martial arts. Check with the Saskatchewan Judo at (306) 975-0831 and Saskatchewan Karate at 555-1212. And the Global Tae Kwon Do Federation at 775-1805.

Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is so popular that several indoor climbing walls have opened up in the city. But you could also head to the mountains or the Cypress Hills.

Run along any of this area's miles of bike paths on the Meewasin Trail, along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River.
