 Here are the most popular children-oriented attractions in the Saskatoon area. Of course, you should consider the age, interests, and energy level of your child to determine the most appropriate places to visit...but here are our recommendations. Batoche National Historic SiteHighway 11 north for 60 km, east on #312 and then north on 225 (toal distance 100 km) (306) 423-6227 Visit what remains of Batoche, a village which used to be the Centre of Metis settlement in the North West Territories during the late 1800's. You'll find the Caron Senior Farmhouse, St. Antoine de Padoue church, a rectory restored to 1896 and trenches and riflepits used by the North West Field Force. There's also a visitor reception centre with an exhibit hall holding exceptional audio-visual presentation, handicrafts. Open from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving Day(May to October), 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Bridge City Speedway Located 2 km east of Saskatoon from Central Ave. (306) 651-3278 Stock car racing including Superstock, CASCAR Sportsmen Streetstock and Thunderstock. Racing done on a one-third mile paved track. Gates open at 6 p.m. Friday night, racing starts at 8 p.m.. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for seniors and youth. Prices may change. Full wheelchair access. Gladys' Doll House Wonderworld Museum 4km north of Saskatoon on Hwy 12, then 1.6 km east (past 4 radio towers) (306) 933-2638 Explore through a collection of over 1,000 antique and new dolls, with 130 different themes. Along with each group of dolls is a scene appropriate to their history. A family craft shop is also available at the facility. Open Victoria Day to mid-September, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., winter hours upon request. Admission $3.00 for adults, $2.50 for students, $1.00 for child (free for children under five). Free access to family craft shop Kinsmen Park Rides Located at the corner of Spadina Cres. and 25th St. A family fun park with rides including an old fashioned merry-go-round, miniature ferris wheel, train and concession. You can also play village and paddling pool. Open daily May through Labor Day, hours vary with season. Little Stone Schoolhouse Located between the College of Dentistry and the University Hospital An actually size replica of a Saskatchewan one-room school. Tours available during the summer.. M.V.Saskatoon Lady Boat Tour leave from Berry Barn downtown 306-549-2400 or 1-888-747-7572 Shearwater Tours offers a number of boat tours including one hour city tours on the M.V. Saskatoon Lady, the Redberry Lake Biosphere Reserve on the M.V. Pelican, and the Land of the Loon Resort on Aglin Lake on the M.V. Makwa. 
Musee Ukrania Museum202 Avenue M South 306-933-2638 This museum includes a variety of ethnic collections from Europe's largest country. Interpretive tours of the exhibits show Ukrainian history form prehistory to massive 20th century emigrations. Eastern Byzantine architecture and inconography is viewed at the adjacent catheral. Open daily 11 am to 5 pm, Sunday 1pm to 5 pm. Admission: $2 for adults and students. Museum of Antiquities The collection consist of replicas purchased from the Louvre, the British Museum, the Museum of Antiquities in Delphi, the Acropolis Museum in Athens, as well as many others. in 1981, new facilities were acquired, and the collection was officially opened as the "Museum of Antiquities." Museum of Natural Sciences The highlight of this museum is the 20 foot high T-Rex skeleton. Exhibits of other live mammals, bird, fish, and reptiles, minerals and exotic plants are showcased as well. Saskatchewan Indian Cultural Centre120 - 33rd Street East. (306) 244-1146 A large display of First Nations collection of art and content library. Cross cultural country seminars are provide at the facility. Tours available on Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 3:30 pm Saskatchewan International Speedway Hwy. 11, 13 km south of Saskatoon (306) 955-3724 Take in the excitement of Saskatchewan's only 1/4 mile drag strip. Often host of NHRA sanction events. Races feature vehicles from all over western Canada. On average there's two events pre month, with admission varying with event. Saskatchewan Railway Museum Located west on Highway 7 and 2 km south on Highway 60 (306) 382-9855 Experience the history of Saskatchewan's railway first hand. Display's include diesel locomotives, street cars, rolling stock, railway buildings and other railway artifacts. Rides available on operating railway motor cars. Open from Victoria Day weekend to September 30, hours vary with season. Admission for adults is $2.00, youth 6 to 16 is a $1.00, under 6 get in for free. Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame Located at the Saskatoon Field House (306) 975-3354 Honouring the achievements and skills of Saskatoon's top athletes, sport builders and teams. 
Saskatoon Zoo & Forestry Farm Park1903 Forest Dr. (306) 975-3382 The majority of the animal exhibits are domestic species of North America. Examples of what you'll see are bears, foxes, moose, waterfowl, bison and wolves. There is also a petting zoo with many friendly animals for the entire family to enjoy. Have lunch at one the beautiful picnic sites while enjoying the botanical displays. Those more athletic in the family can take advantage of ski trails, sports fields and fishing ponds. Train rides are available taking you throughout the zoo. Open daily from May 1 to Labour Day, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, from Labour Day to April 30 the hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; The Zoo hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. During admission is paid through voluntary contributions. Ukranian Museum of Canada 910 Spadina Crescent East 306-244-3800 This museum interprets the early settlement and culture of the Ukrainian people in Canada, including costumes, embroidery, Easter eggs and folk arts. Open Victoria Day to labour Day Monday to Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm, and Labour Day to Victoria Day (winter hours) Tuesday to Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm. Admission $2 adults, $1 students, $0.50 children. 
University ObservatoryWiggins Ave, University of Saskatchewan 306-966-6396 Observe the stars and planets through the refractor telescope. Astronomical exhibits. Wanuskewin Heritage Park 5 km north of city at Wanuskewin Rd & Highway 11 306-931-6767 This National Historic Site includes a ongoing archeological excavation uncovering evidence of over 6,000 years of human habitation. The visitor centre interprets the history and culture of the Northern Plains Indians. There are self-guided trails, plus a restaurant, gift shop and art gallery. Open Victoria Day to Labour Day 9 am to 9 pm. Winter hours 9 am to 5 pm. Restaurant open Wednesday to Sunday 11 am to 3 pm. Recommended time: at least 2 hours. Admission $6 adults, $2.50 children, $4.50 seniors, $15 family. 
Western Development Museum 2610 Lorne Ave. S. (306) 931-1910 The museum belongs to a network of four exhibit branches in the cities of Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon and Yorkton, with the headquarters in Saskatoon. Tours available including looking back into Saskatoon's past. Collections of historic machinery and vintage cars are setup complementing the street exhibit. The Boomtown Cafe is the place to goif its s home cooked meal your looking for. Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Call for rates.
